This is the News Analysis segment of the Voice of Biafra International (VOBI) broadcasts

For May 12th 2007

You have heard the news; now, the analysis…

Fellow Biafrans:

Who are we?

We are Biafrans.

What do we want?

Biafra!

Why do we want Biafra?

Because, Biafra is our Birthright. Biafra is our Natural Right. Biafra is our Ancestral Home. Biafra is our Spiritual Home.  Biafra is our Physical Home.

Biafra now, Biafra for all times!

If you hear anyone talking about us going back to Nigeria, spit in disgust, and then, ignore him or her with the silence reserved for one who doesn’t even exist, one ostracized from society. We will never again belong in, or with, Nigeria. By the same token, we shall have nothing to do with anyone who tries to suggest to us to stay in Nigeria.

We refused to participate in Nigeria’s elections because we are Biafrans; we are not Nigerians. If you hear anyone claiming that we are now going to participate in Nigeria’s post-election-related mess, look on him or her with pity, the kind of pity reserved for a confused and ignorant child. The only direct dealings we will have with Nigeria are negotiations—if Nigeria is ready for that—negotiations on terms for any future Inter-National relations between our Independent, Sovereign Nation of Biafra and whatever remains of Nigeria.

In 1999, MASSOB was formed under the courageous leadership of Ralph Uwazurike leading our brave MASSOBians, with the support of our valiant people. MASSOB remains true to its name, with the sole goal of actualizing Biafra. MASSOB has chosen an agenda of non-violence activism and has observed that principle with unparalleled dedication, even in the face of withering fire and horrible violence against its leadership and membership by Nigeria. If you hear that MASSOB is doing anything contrary (like working to improve the lot of the Igbo in Nigeria), or working under a different agenda (like taking up arms to fight Nigeria), then, know for certain that you have heard a big fat lie from a big fat liar. MASSOB’s goal is Biafra for the Igbo and other Biafrans—never Nigeria: always Biafra! MASSOB’s methods are always non-violent, and they are effective, having brought us thus far, which is far indeed, for there is no single day that passes without Biafra being in the news and or on the minds of peoples all over the globe, including our own people. Biafra is grateful to MASSOB leader, Ralph Uwazurike, and MASSOB members and MASSOB officials, for their efforts and for their mode of operation.

Today, the MASSOB leader, other MASSOB officials such as Uchenna Madu, and many MASSOB members have been clamped in jail by General Obasanjo and Nigeria. Other activists working for Biafra actualization, as well as Asari Dokubo, are also languishing in Nigeria’s jails. Because Obasanjo and Nigeria have neither a Moral case nor a Legal case against Ralph Uwazurike and our other brethren, we continue to demand of them the unconditional release of our innocent brethren. And, they must also understand that we are determined to have them—General Obasanjo and Nigeria—prosecuted for their role in this wrongful incarceration of our people and for any complications arising out of such injustice.

Whatever Obasanjo had hoped to achieve by jailing Uwazurike et al. has not panned out because, instead, the Biafra cause has proceeded faster, deeper and (world-) wider during this time. MASSOB was still able to galvanize our people to effectively boycott the Nigeria’s fraudulent Census of 2006; and, to effectively boycott the Nigeria’s also fraudulent elections of 2007. MASSOB will call for more protests in the future, and our people will be there, very eager and keen to respond appropriately, not just in Biafraland, but all over the world. The control of Biafra’s Niger Delta is still not in Obasanjo-Nigeria’s hands. Worst of all for Nigeria, Nigeria has been exposed to the entire Universe for what it really is, a true flunky and an ugly reflection of Obasanjo and his clique’s ugliness and ridiculousness, a hopelessly failed State so full of itself and its shameless empty boasts. MASSOB and Biafra, and the World for that matter, are set to see Obasanjo and Nigeria rot and fade into oblivion.

Who are we? We are Biafrans.

What do we want? We want Biafra!

We shall have Biafra: we have Biafra!

That’s our glorious divinely ordained Destiny.

Biafra alive! Because it is God Who makes it so.

That’s the News Analysis for the week. Thank you.
