This is the News Analysis segment of the Voice of Biafra International (VOBI) broadcasts

For December 23rd, 2006

You have heard the news; now, the analysis…

Fellow Biafrans:

We wish the Natural power of the season of Christmas—and, specifically, this Christmas 2006—elevates us, at this time, from the suffering and hopelessness which has thus far been the lot of our people. We pray that God of Christmas allow us to glimpse the Hope of Christmas; that the Star of Christmas show us and hold our hand while guiding us through this Door of Hope. Into our Promised Land: Biafra. Into a dispensation where a people with God-given talents and endowments may at last shine as God meant for them to. Into Biafra, where at last we fulfill our Divine Mandate—as a Nation-collective; as individual elements of God’s World and God’s Universe.

Our Christmas Wish is a life-and-death wish: if not fulfilled, we shall be swallowed up by the engulfing darkness called Nigeria, destroyed by the endless night called Nigeria, unable to escape from the suffocating den of the dank and dark tunnel of death and corruption known as Nigeria. God has to hear our voice—again—now. Christmas has to prove to be Christmas, to us—now. The core message of Christmas, all the implications and trimmings—all of Christmas—has got to happen to us now. Christmas has to manifest its reality to us, now. That notable, veritable Magic of Christmas must now leave a permanent and real transformation on us, lifting us into Liberty and Freedom this time around—palpable, livable liberty and freedom, Biafra.

Does anyone need a reminder that the Darkness which is Nigeria only gets—as incredible as that may seem—worse: darker, deeper and thicker? The events and conclusion of the recent Nigeria’s PDP party primaries should send chills down the spine of those who for one moment thought that there was hope for Nigeria, or, that there was hope for Biafrans in Nigeria. With the brazenness and arrogance of Satan himself, Obasanjo and PDP have planned Evil, carried out the Evil, and are now institutionalizing such Evil:—on and over the heads of the hapless peoples whose singular misfortune in life (unarguably, of cosmic proportions,) is to be associated with Nigeria. But that is only half the story; with the helplessness of those in coma, the peoples living (more descriptively, dead and dying) in Nigeria have accepted their freshly renewed malicious and malignant lease on life without as much as a whimper, as Obasanjo and his cronies laugh all the way to the bank, as the saying goes.

Nevertheless, it is okay that God witnesses what it is that we are fighting against—the enemy, Nigeria—just in case. It is also okay that the entire world of mortals sees and understands what it is we are up against as we completely reject Evil Nigeria with finality. It is important for them and for us to understand why we fight, and why we will continue to fight until we get Biafra, and why we have no intention of doing anything else except to fight to actualize Biafra. More important, why there can be no other endpoint than Biafra actualization—Biafra.

As such, let us renew our vow: Biafra actualization is our unrelenting pursuit; Biafra is our goal. We have no plans to die along with Nigeria: we shall not perish with Nigeria; we shall not perish in Nigeria. Our people plan on staying alive to reach Biafra: we shall. We will. So, help us God. So, hear us, Christmas. We are staying the course to Biafra actualization.

As we process the news of the release of the Yoruba’s OPC leaders from jail, we have to ask: why are Ralph Uwazurike, the leader of MASSOB, Uchenna Madu, the Information Director of MASSOB, other MASSOB officials and other MASSOB members—why are they still languishing in jail on Obasanjo’s orders? The injustice of it all is glaring and screaming out! These our people must be released from jail unconditionally and with immediate effect: we insist on it. The world should insist on that, too.

Christmas: as we celebrate, remember us. Remember our heroes who lost life, limb and succor, all for the sake of the same thing which Christmas offers. Deliver for us, Christmas; deliver us into Biafra this year.

Biafra alive! Because it is God Who makes it so.

That’s the News Analysis for the week.   Thank you.
