This is the News Analysis segment of the Voice of Biafra International broadcasts

For June 5th, 2004

You have heard the news; now, the analysis…

“My peoples and my nations shall not be sacrificed for the sake of preserving a worthless idea called Nigeria .” So speaketh the Lord. And so it is.

“The peoples and their nations must live and thrive, though the name and concept of Nigeria die. The peoples and their nations must not and will not be allowed to perish just to save a dying Nigeria .” So says the Lord.

Fellow Biafrans: Know that the Word of God is fulfilled—to the last letter.

With great satisfaction and gratification, and with thanks to our God, we take note of the full alignment of our fellow-Biafrans of the Niger Delta with the cause of Biafra actualization, working with MASSOB under the able leadership of Ralph Uwazurike. The House of Biafra, as it was originally constituted, is now complete, and we move forward to regain our sovereignty. Biafra and her people existed before Nigeria; Biafra and her people remain, and will stay in existence long after the name and entity, Nigeria, has gone down in shame and infamy.

And, speaking of shame and infamy, Nigerian agents under the orders of General Obasanjo, have continued to hunt down, kill, wound, jail and molest unarmed MASSOB members, at will. They have also harassed and taken away our Niger Delta brothers and sisters and leaders of the cooperative effort with MASSOB to actualize our Nation of Biafra. These are certain examples of human rights violations, as well as the violations of God’s creation and abuse of God’s law of life. Obasanjo and his Nigerian agents are doing this with brazen arrogance, and gratuitous brutality, acting as if nothing can be done about their crimes. But,

“The fool hath said in his heart, ‘There is no God.’”

No matter how long it takes, and what form it takes, we must remain assured that these men shall answer to their crimes—to both God and humanity. It is too bad that Obasanjo and his henchmen have no knowledge of history; otherwise, they would understand that as long as they are alive, Human justice will find them, and they will be receiving visits from their children and grandchildren in jail and confinement where they shall pay for their crimes. In those days, loneliness shall be their sole and constant companion, and the arrogance of their heady, power-drunk days shall have turned into drawn-out bitter, cold darkness and abandonment. God, in His infinite Mercy, may show them mercy; but humanity shall teach them the lesson that he who deliberately diminishes and debases humanity shall himself be denied that basic right. Yes, Obasanjo and his agents are enjoying their sadistic actions today, but, the last laugh shall be that of decent humanity's.

And, the unnecessary provocation of Biafrans does not stop there. Up in Plateau State, the Sole Military Administrator appointed by Obasanjo in the latter’s illegal and unconstitutional act, having no ideas on administration, has unnecessarily chosen the inflammatory negative rhetoric of Biafra to score cheap points. Biafra is not directly involved in ongoing problems in Plateau State. But, the Military Administrator of Plateau has already made reference first to the murder and mayhem committed by the Nigerian Military on the orders of Obasanjo in Odi, Bayelsa State, in 1999, as an example of what can happen to Plateau under his rule.. Next, he resorts to using Biafra as another example of what could happen to Plateau people if they don’t obey his commands. We can only note in these statements the desperate scare-tactics of a bully with access to violent sycophants and dangerous weapons. Like a bully, he is “victorious” only when mismatched against hapless unarmed civilians.

But, we have to make sure that Major General Alli, this Sole Military Administrator of Plateau State, understands his own ignorance for thinking that Biafra is no more. Such wishful thinking! Then, we must also remind him of his total psychological denial or blindness and or sheer denseness for thinking that Nigeria is better off because she went to war, aided by two Superpowers and the rest of the Arab countries, to force Biafra back into a failing non-union such as Nigeria is today. If Alli does not even understand that since 1966, Nigeria has been a basket case, deteriorating faster in the last 6 years than at any other time in her downward spiral in the bosom of the abyss—if he doesn’t even comprehend that, why should anybody waste time reasoning with him or listening to him? He has been empowered by his fellow-murderer of civilians, General Obasanjo, and all he knows how to do, and all he can do, is murder more civilians and invoke the ghost that haunts him—Biafra: for him, a truly frightening ghost, for us, the reality of an indomitable, undefeatable creation of God Almighty, on her way to actualization.

Fellow Biafrans: take note that Biafran so-called Nigerian state governors and other officials are allowing this ongoing harassment and killing and unlawful arrest and detention of Biafran Citizens to go on in our own Biafraland. We have also received reports that they are actively helping and colluding with Nigerian agents in carrying out their master, Obasanjo’s orders to annihilate MASSOB. There is no greater crime than that anybody, especially somebody using the office, instruments and vehicle of government, should supervise the killing and maiming and torment and torture of his own people. In Igbo, we call this “alu” or “aru.” We want to assure every single one of them that  justice will visit them, at the appropriate time. Maybe drunk with the crumbs Obasanjo is promising them, they think that they are untouchable and immune. How foolish! For, the sins of the father shall certainly be visited on his offspring: we did not invent this wise saying.

We ask Ohaneze to stand up for Biafra. We want Ohaneze to stand up for our people—the people of the Nation of Biafra. How is it that Ohaneze will sit down there and say nothing and do nothing, and before we know it, their members will be exchanging pleasantries with Obasanjo, on whose orders our people are being decimated? We do not want to hear of quiet diplomacy or secret negotiations. Have we learned nothing? North-on-North violence broke out in Plateau—not Kano. But, Muslims in Kano then went on a rampage and killed Biafrans. Next, they demanded—not in secret but openly—that Obasanjo impose a state of emergency in Plateau, and Obasanjo succumbed to their ultimatum, even though the whole world knows that, if anything, it is Kano where a state of emergency should have been declared. But the Muslim groups, though clearly wrong, though being the provocateur and the perpetrator, still got Obasanjo to do their bidding. Maybe Ohaneze does not have the balls to give Obasanjo an ultimatum; the least Ohaneze can do is to demand that the Nigerian police and their agents should stop harassing and killing our people. The least Ohaneze can do is to ask the so-called governors and their administrations in Biafraland to stop aiding and encouraging this crime, and to demand that they pledge to take a stand to protect Biafran citizens from the vagaries of unscrupulous and bloodthirsty Nigerian Police and Security agents and their leader, Obasanjo. If Ohaneze fails to step up at this time on behalf of the people, who will forgive Ohaneze, even after we actualize Biafra?

Biafra lives, because God wills it so; the blood of Biafrans, especially MASSOB members, spilled by those who want to oppose the Will of God, will not have been shed in vain. Because, God is concerned.

That’s the news analysis for the week. Thank you.

God bless and keep Biafra , and you, until our next broadcast. Voice of Biafra International (VOBI) broadcast continues (http://www.biafraland.com/vobi.htm) with the summary of the News Analysis in Igbo.
